After a week of rain and gloomy weather, the sun finally came out for the weekend and it felt wonderful! We spent Saturday catching up on work around the house, cleaning out the garage and yard work — things that have been accumulating and needed to be done since the weather warmed up. The next day, Sunday, was even warmer and nicer so we spent the afternoon in the city. After lunch we went for our favorite dessert, frozen kefir. It always hits the spot, especially on a warm sunny day. We strolled around the neighborhood taking in the sights of the blooming trees. It was the perfect day!
I wore a black cotton midi shirt dress I've had for a while and brightened it up for spring with my sunny yellow loafers, a silk scarf, white sunglasses and a wicker bag. When you think of spring, you don't often think of a black dress, but with the right accessories it can absolutely work. The bright whites and yellows liven up the dress to create a look that's spring appropriate and ultra chic. This entire outfit consists of older pieces from my closet that I have styled in a new way to create a fresh look, with the exception of the bag. The bag is a new purchase from J. McLaughlin. It's called the Victoria Bag and I love its simplicity and unique shape. It's perfect for all my spring and summer outfits and I have no doubt I'll get lots of use out of it.
