Life Lately

Hello, friends! I sure have been slacking in the writing department for some time now. I've been finding it difficult to put pen to paper, or in this case fingers to keyboard. Is that even a thing? After a long, drawn-out winter with increasing lack of energy and vitamin D, I haven't felt inspired to share much. My everyday life has turned into a sort of boring ritual of chores — forcing myself out of my warm bed each morning to tackle the day and take care of all the things I need to accomplish each and every day. I am a wife and mother, after all, and a responsible one. I know what I need to do and I get it done. But I've somehow lost the joy of it all and allowed myself to become robotic to a degree. The end of winter can do that to me. It's as if the life has been sucked out of me and I'm running on empty.

But alas, spring is finally here! At least the calendar says it has arrived. Although most days are still chilly, and some very grey and rainy, the daylight is longer and that makes me happy. We've been able to get out of the house more and take walks, breathe the fresh air or simply sit on our bench with the warm sun shining down on us. Oh, those simple little pleasures! Spring gets me excited for life again. It gives me renewed energy and a renewed mindset allowing me to focus more on the positive and the possibilities ahead.

I walked into my local Trader Joe's the other day and there was a massive display of tulips greeting me as I entered through the door. I couldn't help but smile (and take a picture) upon the sight of those gorgeous hues of spring colors! Of course I brought some home with me, along with the beautiful bouquet of ranuculus that I couldn't stop photographing because they were just amazing! In fact, I still have them on a table to my left and I see them with the corner of my eye as I sit here typing.

Not only am I filling my house with spring flowers but my wardrobe as well. I recently got out my little collection of floral tops that I adore so much and I'm excited to wear them. I've been living in a lot of neutral colors lately so it's time to add a touch of spring to my outfits as well.

I'm gladly welcoming this new season of rebirth, renewal and rejuvenation into every aspect of my life and looking forward to the months ahead!
